NHL DFS: Mikael Granlund and top FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy hockey picks for Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020
Mike McClure, a DFS pro with almost $2 million in career earnings, gives optimal lineup advice
With 18 teams hitting the ice Sunday, the NHL DFS player pool is ripe with plenty of tantalizing opportunity. The New York Rangers have won four straight games, but they run into the best team in hockey, the Boston Bruins, at 3:30 p.m. ET. Bruins wing David Pastrnak has 42 goals and 82 points this season, but New York's Artemi Panarin is almost as good – with 77 points so far.
The St. Louis Blues are the best in the West so far, as wing David Perron (23 goals, 56 points) leads the way against defenseman Roman Josi (14 goals, 57 points) and the Nashville Predators at 6 p.m. ET. Should Pastrnak, Panarin, Perron or Josi be part of NHL DFS lineups for Sunday? Before you scour the NHL DFS player pool and lock in your NHL DFS picks for Sunday, be sure to check out the optimal NHL DFS strategy and advice from Mike McClure, who has won almost $2 million in his career as a daily Fantasy pro.

McClure's top NHL DFS picks for Sunday
For Sunday's slate, one of McClure's top NHL DFS picks is Predators center Mikael Granlund at $4,600 on FanDuel and $4,400 on DraftKings. Granlund netted the game-winning goal Saturday night in Nashville's 4-3 victory over the Blues -- his 14th goal of the season. The nine-year veteran has turned a corner for the Predators this season, as his 13.2 percent shooting percentage this season is the second highest in his career.
Granlund has enjoyed a productive week, as he also scored Monday against Vancouver. Now Granlund and the Predators get the Blues back at home Sunday, a team he has tallied three points on in three games in 2019-20. McClure knows Granlund is capable of a huge performance, and that he has scored twice in four games this season on the back end of back-to-backs, and loves him for your Sunday NHL DFS roster.
Part of McClure's optimal NHL DFS strategy Sunday also includes rostering Maple Leafs center/wing Mitchell Marner ($7,500 on FanDuel and $7,400 on DraftKings). Marner netted his 15th goal and 59th point of the season Saturday in a victory over Ottawa. Marner has been a point-generating machine for the Maple Leafs in February, piling up nine points in eight games so far this month.
Marner has also dented Sunday's opponent, the Buffalo Sabres, for an assist when the two teams met earlier this season. Combine those results with Buffalo ranking 31st defending Marner's position, and this could be a lucrative roster spot. At an affordable price point, McClure thinks Marner can keep his positive momentum going and score big for your NHL DFS team.
How to set your NHL DFS lineups on Sunday
McClure is also targeting another player who has a dream matchup on Sunday. He's a huge steal at his price point and this pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
