Ron Hextall is wasting no time in reshaping the Philadelphia Flyers.

Hextall already dealt Scott Hartnell to Columbus in exchange for Scott Hartnell and he could be eyeing another trade. Or at least is giving Vincent Lecavalier the right to look around.

(Hint, hint; nudge, nudge.)

Lecavalier was bought out last summer by the Lightning, using a compliance buyout to do so. It didn't take long for him to reach a deal with the Flyers for five seasons and $4.5 million annually. After one season, Hextall already seems to be feeling some buyer's remorse for the franchise and his boss, Paul Holmgren.

Lecavalier did have 20 goals last season and another 17 assists but Lecavalier still didn't quite have the impact they hoped for. At even strength he had only eight goals in 69 games and was mostly playing in a fourth-line role. That's a lot of money to pay a guy in the bottom six and a lot of term left for a player approaching 35.

Of course just getting the money off the cap would be a relief too. No team is tighter to next season's cap than the Flyers, who have less than $2 million available right now according to Cap Geek and they still have work to do.

How easy it might be to find a team that wants to take Lecavalier's contract from Philly and give up something in return is another question, because you'd figure that will be tough.
