Penguins defenseman Matt Niskanen to miss 2-4 weeks
The Penguins got a bad bit of news on Tuesday when coach Dan Bylsma announced that defenseman Matt Niskanen will be for 2-4 weeks.

Niskanen was injured in the Penguins' shootout win over the Senators on Sunday, playing just 6:49 in that game before leaving with an ankle injury. He didn't return, but the hope was that the injury wouldn't be bad enough to keep him out of the lineup for long. Unfortunately that's not the case.
According to Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Niskanen is in a walking cast, so you can see why he's looking at a few weeks before he's back on the ice.
The Penguins will miss Niskanen. To start the season, Kris Letang hasn't looked as good as his usual self in his own zone, showing the importance of other guys such as Niskanen.
Having Niskanen not in the lineup is bad enough, but it also means more time for some of the other defensemen who haven't been so good, such as Ben Lovejoy. At least Marc-Andre Fleury has been pretty good in net thus far (only three games, but still).
Niskanen posted one goal and two assists in the first five games, averaging almost 22 minutes of ice time.
