Sir Charles Barkley must have an appreciation for Patrick Kane, he of the big skills and big personality. He's wearing No. 88's jersey at Game 7 at the United Center.
Patrick Kane is becoming one of the most popular guys in hockey these days. Heck, he’s one of the most popular guys in all of sports right now. Perhaps only California Chrome, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook have him beat in terms of attention presently.
But even those last two guys are getting ignored by a fellow basketball personality, at least for one night. NBA legend and TNT analyst Charles Barkley took a night off from hoops to take in Game 7 between the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings, joining friend and Chicagoan Mike Wilbon, of Washington Post and ESPN fame. Both were clad in Blackhawks garb with Sir Charles donning a Patrick Kane jersey… a very big Patrick Kane jersey.
Have to respect Wilbon for going old school with the Bobby Hull jersey, even if it is pretty much a jersey foul and an autographed one at that.
And here is Sir Charles riveted by the frenetic pace of Game 7.
Patrick Kane hasn’t just been impressing those in the basketball realm. He’s recently gotten shoutouts from other pro athletes respecting the skill Kane has been showing these playoffs including Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper and Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller.
Nothing like Patrick Kane...wow what a game! Da da da da da da da! #BLACKHAWKS— Bryce Harper (@Bharper3407) May 31, 2014

Kane started Game 7 with two assists and now has nine points over his last three games, all of which had the Blackhawks facing elimination. Showtime, indeed.
