PHOTO: Finland reveals jerseys for Sochi Olympics
The Nike-designed jerseys are simple, creative, and environmentally-friendly.
The unveiling of Olympic hockey jerseys continued Wednesday, as Finland became the next country to showcase its threads.
The uniforms from Nike again include the faux laces at the neck, but there is an added element of creativity in having the white jerseys resemble the Finnish flag. And, as you can see, the blue variation primarily showcases the Coat of Arms.
In addition, according to MTV.fi, the jerseys are made up of 73 percent recycled polyester. For example, the site reports, one jersey is made up of 17 recycled plastic bottles, which are melted down into yarn and woven into fabric.
So that's an interesting twist.
In sum, it appears Nike granted Finland a measure of simplicity when designing its sweaters, something that can't be said for everyone.
