PHOTO: Jets fans taunt Canucks with giant John Tortorella cutout
Winnipeg Jets fans brought a larger-than-life-size cutout of the suspended John Tortorella to taunt the Vancouver Canucks.
John Tortorella may not have been behind the Vancouver Canucks bench in Winnipeg Friday night, but his cardboard likeness was. With Tortorella still serving his 15-day suspension for the hallway altercation with the Calgary Flames, assistant coach Mike Sullivan was serving as head coach for the Canucks against the Jets. He still had Tortorella looking over his shouloder, though.
The fans in the first row behind the bench had a giant cutout of a pointing, screaming Tortorella and passed it along the row.
Tortorella isn’t even allowed to have contact with the team during his 15-day ban from the league. Friday night’s game is the last he will have to miss as a result of the suspension.
There were some serious funds put into this cutout, too. Not only is it a high-quality image, take a look at the reverse view. Handles and everything.
The Canucks need torts back!! That's torts behind the glass FYI. He wasn't allowed on the bench they say pic.twitter.com/qEmWDO00FI— Jeromy Rempel (@JeromyRempel) February 1, 2014
Well done, Winnipeg. That is some high quality in-arena trolling right there.
