PHOTO: Ryan Getzlaf's face in bad shape after direct shot from puck
Ryan Getzlaf's face got pretty messed up after taking a puck directly to the jaw off the stick of Tyler Seguin.
In the closing seconds of the Anaheim Ducks’ 4-3 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 1 Wednesday night, Ryan Getzlaf took a puck square to his jaw. It didn’t look pretty when it happened and Getzlaf immediately skated off the ice and hustled to the dressing room.
Not 24 hours later, the star center gave the world a look at what your face will look like if you take a direct shot from Tyler Seguin (who can really fire it by the way). WARNING Some may find the photo graphic in nature, so if that's you, stop scrolling.
Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.
Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau said Getzlaf “will probably be OK.” The Anaheim captain plans to play in Game 2 because, you know, hockey.
Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy likes to look on the bright side and offered this quip via NHL.com:
"It's a scary situation," Lovejoy said. "Luckily he's married. He's got a couple of kids. He's not trying to impress anybody with his face."
