Remember when Buffalo Sabres TV play-by-play commentator Rick Jeanneret called a game between the benches? Well, as you may recall, Jeanneret was wearing a helmet with a full face shield as protection. It especially came in handy when Jordan Nolan was basically checked right into the popular broadcaster.

The Sabres are making the most of this rather quirky moment in the team’s history by raffling off the “game-used” helmet, which is also autographed by Jeanneret. In addition to the helmet, the winner will receive tickets to the Sabres’ game on Dec. 5 against the New York Rangers and get a meet-and-greet with Jeanneret himself.

The proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, a team from the Ontario Junior Hockey League that is loosely affiliated with the NHL club.

Since Jeanneret’s stint between the benches is the most memorable thing to come out of this Sabres season, this could be the hottest raffle item of the year.
