VIDEO: Alex Ovechkin terrifyingly pies Tom Wilson in the face
Capitals rookie Tom Wilson scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday night in a Caps win, earning him a terrifying shaving cream pie to the face from Alex Ovechkin.
Former Washington Capitals first-round draft pick Tom Wilson had a big night on Tuesday. Not only did he record his first career point with an assist, he later added his first career goal with a nice redirect from an Alex Ovechkin pass on the power play.
So he and the Capitals, who won 6-2, were in the celebrating mood. That holds true for Ovechkin too as he made his return after missing a pair of games with two more goals and the assist to Wilson.
Seeing how he is the captain, Ovechkin decided to have the fun in the locker room and congratulate Wilson in his postgame media scrum with a shaving cream pie to the face. A blue gel shaving cream pie but a shaving cream pie nonetheless.
While the old shaving cream to the face scene was good (and surprisingly underutilized in hockey circles), making it so much better was Ovechkin's sneak attack. Look at that face, mustache and all.
And another angle with a gif from @CapitalsHill:
Well, that's terrifying. Apologies if you see that in your dreams tonight.
The Capitals, after another dreadful start, moved into second place in the Metropolitan Division on Tuesday night, going to 8-7-0 on the season. Perhaps more fun times await -- though I doubt Tom Wilson found it to be a lot of fun, a small price to pay for your first career goal.
