VIDEO: Bad British Commentary takes on 2013 Stanley Cup Final
The Bad British Commentary has made its way to hockey and it's fantastic.
If you're at all like me, ever since you first saw the Bad British Baseball Commentary and all the subsequent videos, you couldn't wait for one on hockey. Well that day has arrived.
Just in time for this season's Stanley Cup Final comes a British commentary on Game 6 from last year's Cup Final in Boston, the famous "17 seconds" game which saw the Blackhawks score twice in the final 90 seconds to tie and then take the lead on the Bruins and win the Stanley Cup.
Predictably, it's excellent. There's this:
"He slipped past his man like an eel in an overcoat!"
"Mary Poppins, look how small the goals are. They're the size of a matchbox guarded by an overzealous bee keeper."
But my personal favorite, in response to Corey Crawford fleeing to the bench for the extra attacker:
"What's that? What's going on here? Crikey O'Blimey, the keeper is legging it! Runaway bride! He can't take it anymore and is fleeing the stadium in terror. Come on back, you coward!"
Great Britain might have a hockey league but considering Paul Bissonnette tore it up during the lockout, you can understand that it's not a very big deal over there, even if the game did originate in England.
