VIDEO: Buffalo Sabres end practice with on-ice dance-off
The Buffalo Sabres might not be having a ton of fun this season, but they let their hair down a little with an on-ice dance off at practice.
The Buffalo Sabres haven't exactly been having a lot of fun this year with a 1-7-1 record. It's a young team, with a lot of rookies and perhaps the gowing pains are a little difficult to swallow at this point.
That said, the Sabres are trying to stay loose. An on-ice dance off to end Friday morning's practice was a pretty good indication of that.
There were some pretty solid moves in there, and some pretty terrible ones as well. It's tough to tell who all participated, but if I had to guess, it's the rookies getting thrown into the dancing ring. That was Mikhail Grigorenko doing his best John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, there.
But wait! There's more!
Here's rookie Zemgus Girgensons channeling his inner-Miley with some on-ice twerking.
Now some fans might complain that the team should be focusing less on fun and more on winning, but to be quite honest, who cares? We so often seem to want athletes to be robots who only care about sports and if the team is losing, they should never have fun.
That's unrealistic and also unfair. Sometimes breaking up the monotony of practice, especially during a bad stretch of the season is a good thing. Also, we now know that the Sabres' hockey playing isn't as bad as their dancing, so there's that, too.
