Scoring your first NHL goal is a pretty big deal. Obviously it's a major milestone in any hockey player's career and it's something they would like to remember. That's why first goals -- and other memorable goals -- are commemorated with keeping the puck.

So it was that on Wednesday night in Calgary's throttling of the spiraling Ducks that rookie centerman Corban Knight hammered home his first career goal. It gave the Flames a 7-2 lead, a seemingly innocuous goal.

At least that's what one of the linesmen appeared to think. Unaware of the significance, he picked up the puck and flipped it into the stands for a souvenior ... for somebody else. Whoops.

Luckily the Flames found out where the puck went and soembody was able to pull off a nice trade for everybody involved by sacrificing his stick to a young fan so they could get that puck back for Knight. Originally it was thought Mikael Backlund retrieved the puck but no.

Either way, Knight looked pleased about it.

Now it's up to Knight to find a way to repay the favor to whomever got the puck back ... and avoid a certain linesman going forward.
