VIDEO: Dustin Penner scores buzzer-beater to put Kings ahead
Los Angeles' Dustin Penner barely beat the second-period buzzer to give the Kings a 2-1 lead.
As time began to tick down in the second period, it appeared the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues would be headed into the third period locked in a 1-1 tie. That was until the Kings' Dustin Penner got the puck on his stick near the red line with just four seconds remaining.
Somehow, those four seconds were all that Penner needed to coral the puck, carry it into the Blues’ zone and unleash a rocket of a slap shot that beat Brian Elliott with just 0.2 seconds left on the clock. The goal was reviewed, but it didn’t take long to determine it crossed the goal line in time.
Perhaps the only thing better than the goal was Ken Hitchcock's reaction on the Blues' bench, complete with ominous zoom.
