With every passing game and every goal he scores, the idea of Gustav Nyquist as a true Hart Trophy candidate becomes more and more real. He has been on a ridiculous pace to help ignite a late push by the Red Wings to make the playoffs for a 23rd straight season.

The idea seems even less far-fetched when Nyquist is absolutely torching Zdeno Chara to score a go-ahead goal against the mighty Bruins in the third period.

Holy skating speed, Batman, this kid is fast. Not to mention has some pretty great hands to get that shot off on such a rush against a goalie like Tuukka Rask.

In Chara's defense he wasn't left in a great spot with a bad turnover by the Bruins and a recent change off the bench. Still, it's not often you see somebody get by the big fella that easily and that quickly.

But we're talking about Nyquist here, the phenom who now has 28 goals in 51 games this season with the Red Wings.

Nyquist's goal stood as the game-winner as Detroit held on for a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Bruins. It sure is looking like the Wings are going to make it 23 straight seasons in the postseason at this rate and frankly, Pittsburgh should be nervous about the Wings getting that first wild card.
