VIDEO: Henrik Lundqvist robs Brian Gionta with pad save
Brian Gionta nearly made Game 4 a 1-1 game in the first period if not for a terrific pad save from Henrik Lundqvist.
The Canadiens were slow to start offensively but that doesn't mean they didn't get many chances in the period. In fact, they had a really good chance that you'd normally expect to hit the back of the net except for this Lundqvist guy.
After winning the offensive-zone faceoff, Tomas Plekanec fired a puck from the boards low on Lundqvist, one he redirected away with his pad, right to Brian Gionta on the back post all alone. Luckily for Lundqvist, Gionta didn't corral the puck right away, giving him just enough time to push over and deny Gionta the goal with a terrific right-pad save.
As the people are supposed to do for a King, the MSG faithful erupted into a chorus of cheers, chanting the King's name. With saves like that, it's deserved.
