VIDEO: Hundreds of fans welcomed Kings at LAX after Game 7 win
How excited was LA for the Kings advancing to the Stanley Cup Final? Excited enough for hundreds of fans to welcome back at the airport on Sunday night.
Who says Los Angeles doesn't much care about their Kings?
Hundreds of fans in LA were excited enough to stay up late into the night on Sunday to welcome their Western Conference champs back from Chicago after their big Game 7 win at LAX.
Lined up in their Kings sweaters, they chanted "We Want the Cup!" as team mascot Bailey walked by with the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, the first of two big trophies they're hoping for. The tired faces on the Kings' faces to their welcoming party had a couple of quick smiles of appreciation.
Kings fans get a fair amount of heat for not being a passionate fan base but that gets a bit diluted simply by the sheer size of the markey they call home. LA has plenty of big hockey fans that seem to be growing more passionate by the day as the Kings are making strides toward being one of the league's elite organizations.
