VIDEO: Tuukka Rask makes awesome stick save right on goal line
Tuukka Rask managed to keep Brendan Gallagher off the score sheet with a great save in the first period, stopping the puck right on the line with his paddle.
Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller basically gave the Montreal Canadiens a 1-0 lead with his turnover behind the Boston net early in the first so it was only right that Tuukka Rask robbed the Canadiens of another goal a couple of minutes later.
The Canadiens were coming at the Bruins non-stop in the early going and it created a very good chance in the Boston crease. Brendan Gallagher, always around the net it seems, reached out to swipe the puck into the open net on the backhand.
Rask, who was not in position to make the save, still managed to make it. How? By reaching out his paddle and putting it right on the goal line.
Because he was falling down and under durress, Gallagher couldn't get any lift on the puck, just sliding it along the ice. Rask got his paddle all the way down and stopped the puck right on the line. Still a 1-0 game.
Because the video above does it little justice, here's a look in GIF form via @PeteBlackburn. I guess that save is alright.
