The Edmonton Oilers are losing a whole bunch of hockey games again this season and they've often looked just terrible while doing it. However, Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakell made his opponents look particularly foolish in scoring a spectacular overtime game-winning goal.

The perils of 3-on-3 overtime is that teams will have forwards who are usually focused on scoring forced into situations where they have to defend. Sometimes the results are ugly, and this is one of those cases.

Rakell took the puck inside the Oilers zone. He sped past Taylor Hall, but forward Leon Draisaitl still had a good angle on the Ducks forward. Or at least he did for a second. Rakell tucked the puck back towards him and made Draisaitl look like a matador out there, just absolutely whiffing. Then he darted past Brandon Davidson and easily flipped a backhand shot past goalie Cam Talbot to give the Ducks a win.

You have to give Rakell credit for being so slippery there, but the Oilers just didn't put up nearly enough of a fight with the game on the line. That goal was Rakell’s 16th of the season and easily the prettiest of his career, bad defense or not.

Anaheim has been on fire lately and sit just two points behind the Los Angeles Kings for first place in the Pacific Division.
