WATCH: Jordan Subban scores creative shootout goal on brother

A lot of NHL players and prospects are back on the ice of late getting ready for the upcoming hockey season. Some are playing in local men’s leagues like Patrick Kane. Others are participating in camps put on by their agents and quite a few have been in Toronto this week to participate in the camp put on by the makers of nutritional supplement BioSteel.

That camp has become an annual attraction with a litany of NHL stars getting some preseason reps in.

Two of the participants this year are P.K. Subban’s younger brothers, Bruins pick Malcolm and Canucks prospect Jordan. Jordan is the youngest of the three drafted Subbans and he had a great chance to put one over on goaltender and middle brother Malcolm.

While participating in a skills competition-style shootout, Jordan got extra creative.

Instead of starting with the puck like normal, he had a teammate set up in the corner. Jordan then skated in, did a few spins on the ice and had the teammate lift the puck up into the air on his last spin, Jordan spotted the puck and in one move batted it out of mid-air and right past Malcolm who appeared more than happy not to get in the way of that one if he had a chance to react at all.

Needless to say, this camp is all in the sake of fun and just getting on the ice to get some reps in, but when you can add the sibling rivalry element, it does up the ante a bit. Judging by the celebration, Jordan was pretty excited to put one over on his big bro.

Jordan, who was a fourth round pick of the Canucks in 2013, had 42 points for the Belleville Bulls last season in the Ontario Hockey League. Malcolm Subban, the Bruins’ pick at 24th overall in 2012, spent last season in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins. He posted a .920 save percentage and 2.31 goals-against average in his first pro season.

P.K., meanwhile, well you know he’s been having a pretty good summer himself.
