  • Senators' Mike McKenna: Finds new home in Ottawa

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/1/18) McKenna signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Sunday.

McKenna is a career AHLer. He's drawn into 24 NHL games since the Predators chose him in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, but he'll simply be an emergency option for the Senators at 35 years of age.

Stars' Mike McKenna: Dropped down to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/8/18) McKenna was sent to AHL Texas on Sunday, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.

The 34-year-old netminder went 1-1-0 at the NHL level this season, posting a 2.97 GAA and .900 save percentage. He'll rejoin AHL Texas as the team looks to make its playoff run.

Stars' Mike McKenna: Concedes five to Anaheim

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/7/18) McKenna stopped 28 of 33 shots Friday in a 5-3 loss to the Ducks.

McKenna couldn't sustain his performance from Tuesday's win over San Jose, as Anaheim solved him for five goals, leaving McKenna with an .848 save percentage and the first loss of his brief two-game season. He'll likely be the choice against Los Angeles in Saturday's finale, as Dallas has nothing to play for, but McKenna's rough showing against the Ducks suggests that beating the Kings will be a tall order.

Stars' Mike McKenna: Named Friday's starter

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/5/18) McKenna will guard the goal Friday against the Ducks in Anaheim.

McKenna stopped all 17 shots he faced in relief of Kari Lehtonen on Tuesday and will attempt to back that effort up with a solid showing Friday against the Ducks. To do so, he will need to shut down an Anaheim squad averaging 3.03 goals per game at home this season.

Stars' Mike McKenna: Perfect in relief

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/4/18) McKenna stopped all 17 shots while appearing in relief during Tuesday's win over San Jose.

McKenna entered in the second period after starting netminder Kari Lehtonen sustained an upper-body injury. The 34-year-old McKenna hadn't appeared in an NHL game since the 2014-15 campaign with the Coyotes before Tuesday's performance. With Ben Bishop (lower body) now out for the remainder of the season and Lehtonen's status up in the air, Dallas may have to turn to McKenna in its last-ditch attempt to qualify for the postseason.
