  • Canucks' Richard Bachman: Called up to big club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/20/18) Bachman was recalled from AHL Utica on Tuesday.

While nothing solid has come out about it yet, there are rumblings among the Vancouver beat writers that Bachman's recall indicates that Jacob Markstrom is dealing with some sort of injury. Regardless, Bachman will likely step into his usual backup role for the Canucks and doesn't seem like a candidate to see much playing time, as he shows just an .899 save percentage through 21 games played for Utica this season.

    Richard Bachman: Waived by Canucks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/1/17) Bachman was waived Sunday by the Canucks, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Bachman started just five games in goal for the Canucks last season and went 2-3 while allowing 2.64 goals per game. Should he clear waivers, Bachman will likely return to AHL Utica, where he posted a 12-11-3 record in 2016-17.

Canucks' Richard Bachman: Yields five goals in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/10/17) Bachman allowed five goals on 44 shots in 5-2 loss to the Oilers on Sunday.

With such a small sample size, Bachman's GAA ballooned from 2.04 to 2.64 after this performance. In his first three starts, he allowed fewer than three goals in each contest, but over his next two starts, he yielded a total of eight. The journeyman netminder has played for three different teams in seven seasons and hasn't received more than six starts in four years, so he shouldn't be on any fantasy radars heading into 2017-18.

Canucks' Richard Bachman: In net for regular-season finale

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/9/17) Bachman will patrol the crease for Sunday night's game in Edmonton.

Bachman draws just his fifth start of the season on the final day of the campaign and he'll look to keep up the decent play he has displayed in his limited looks -- the 29-year-old has not allowed more than three goals in any of his starts this season. He'll try to finish strong against an Oilers team that is averaging 3.50 goals per game thus far in April.

Canucks' Richard Bachman: Falls to Sharks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/5/17) Bachman allowed three goals on 25 shots Tuesday in a 3-1 loss to San Jose.

Bachman was lackluster in what was just his fourth appearance of the season, giving up two goals in the first 30 seconds to Kevin Labanc and Joel Ward. Now 20-16-2 across parts of seven seasons in the NHL, Bachman doesn't play nearly enough to warrant fantasy consideration. The Utah native will be 30 next season, so time is running out for him to become an impact netminder at the game's highest level.
