  • Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Two straight two-point games

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/8/17) Kadri scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.

Kadri now has four points (two goals, two assists) in his first two games. Nice start, Nazzy. Now keep it up.

Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Not clicking with Patrick Marleau yet

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/29/17) Kadri and his linemates Leo Komarov and Patrick Marleau have not found chemistry in the preseason and coach Mike Babcock wants more from the trio, reports the Toronto Sun.

As usual, Babcock was blunt in his assessment Thursday: "That line has to be better. That group can be way better, way quicker. They have to upgrade. We need Naz to be really good for us to be effective. That group has to find some chemistry and get going." Kadri is working to get reads off of new linemate Marleau and it is a process. There is still a chance that Babcock will toy with Marleau on the top line, but expect the team to focus on gelling Kadri with Marleau to start the season.

Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Arrives at camp in best shape of career

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/15/17) Kadri arrived at training camp in the best shape of his career, the Toronto Sun reports.

"The first thing he did was he got in shape," coach Mike Babcock said Thursday. Now, that's not to infer Nazzy was out of shape last season. Babcock clarified right away: "I think Naz had the best summer (of preparation) since I have known him, for sure. You arrive with legs and you feel like you are getting going and you get some traction." Kadri has thrived in an abrasive, defensive role and set career marks with 32 goals and 61 points last season, all while driving opposing stars like Alexander Ovechkin and Connor McDavid snaky. Kadri's commitment to offseason training is a reflection of his maturity as a man and player. He understands the commitment Babcock has made to him and he wants to continue to be an impact player. Fantasy owners will reap the rewards of this commitment this season.

Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Breaks out in Game 3 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/18/17) Kadri scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning tally in overtime against Washington on Monday.

Kadri has been tasked with slowing down Washington's top line, and while it hasn't been a complete success, Toronto sports a 2-1 series lead. It's also difficult to discredit Kadri after his significant role in Monday's Game 3 comeback win. Keeping his defensive responsibilities in mind, the center's offensive numbers might continue to be hit-or-miss, but Kadri's been finding ways to score all year long while matching up against the opposition's best players.

Maple Leafs' Nazem Kadri: Moves into 15th in goals

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/6/17) Kadri scored the Maple Leafs' only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday night.

Kadri continues to put up goals, as he now owns a remarkable 32 on the season. That puts him in a tie with such snipers as Mark Scheifele, Jeff Carter and Rickard Rakell for 15th overall in the NHL.
