Frank Corrado: Bound for Europe
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado inked a one-year deal with Swedish second-tier club MODO on Monday.

Corrado last appeared in an NHL game with the Penguins during the 2017-18 campaign, logging just five contests. Since being drafted by the Canucks in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL Draft, the blueliner saw action in 76 contests for Vancouver, Toronto and Pittsburgh in which he tallied three goals and five helpers. At this point, the 27-year-old has probably played his final game in the NHL and figures to close out his career overseas.

Senators' Frank Corrado: Signs AHL deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado signed with AHL Belleville for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

Corrado has played 17 games with Belleville on a professional tryout agreement, recording five points and six PIM. The 26-year-old made enough of an impression to secure a full-time job with the club as a result.

Maple Leafs' Frank Corrado: Inks minor-league deal with Buds
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado has returned to the Maple Leafs organization under the terms of a minor-league contract, TSN reports.

Corrado did not receive a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent with the Penguins in June, so the Toronto native will come back home to reunite with the AHL's Marlies. The 25-year-old defenseman obviously has no fantasy value away from the NHL.

Frank Corrado: Not tendered by Pens
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was not given a qualifying offer from the Penguins, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. As a result, he'll officially become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Corrado's been limited to 76 NHL appearances between three clubs, and he's been on the AHL shuttle every year since the Canucks took him in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Worse yet, he only made five appearances with the Penguins last season; obviously, you can safely overlook a player like him.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Reverts to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado cleared waivers Sunday and was re-assigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre Scranton.

Part of the move to send Corrado to minors was due to the fact that the Penguins have a five-day rest period following Sunday's game against the Bruins. It also likely signals that either Brian Dumoulin (concussion) or Chad Ruhwedel (upper body) are ready to return.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Placed on waivers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Penguins placed Corrado on waivers Saturday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

Corrado's move to waivers indicates Brian Dumoulin (concussion) is likely nearing a return to the lineup. If he goes unclaimed, the 24-year-old blueliner will be assigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.

With Kris Letang (lower body), Justin Schultz (lower body) and now Chad Ruhwedel (undisclosed) all dealing with injuries, Corrado could get a look on the blue line ahead of Friday's clash with Carolina. The 24-year-old may still find himself watching from the press box, however, as neither Letang or Ruhwedel has been officially ruled out against the Hurricanes.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Quickly sent back to minor league
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Seth Rorabaugh of The Athletic Pittsburgh reports.

The depth defender will swap places with Kevin Czuczman, who hasn't appeared in an NHL game since he was a member of the Panthers in the 2013-14 campaign. As such, you can safely avoid both players in the fantasy arena.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was called up from AHL Wilkes/Barre-Scranton on Thursday.

Corrado's promotion comes as Justin Schultz (lower body) was placed on injured reserve. The 24-year-old Corrado will be making his second stint in the NHL this season, having previously appeared in three games in early November. The Toronto native will likely spend most of his time watching from the press box, but could certainly challenge Ian Cole or Chad Ruhwedel for ice time.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Sent down to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.

Corrado's demotion likely is intended to get him some ice time considering he has been a healthy scratch in six straight games. However, factoring in the timing of the move -- the Baby Pens aren't in action until Wednesday -- it could be an indication that Carter Rowney (concussion) is nearing a return. Barring injuries, the 24-year-old Corrado is unlikely to earn regular minutes with the Pens any time soon and will probably spend the majority of the year in the minors.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.

Corrado spent the bulk of the 2016-17 campaign in the minors, but offers the most NHL experience (71 games) of the Baby Pens blueliners who could have been promoted. Coach Mike Sullivan will be choosing between the 24-year-old and Zach Trotman for the third-pairing role against the Jets on Thursday.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Hits waiver wire
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was placed on waivers by the Penguins on Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.

Considering what the Pens gave up to bring in Corrado -- Eric Fehr, Steve Oleksy and a fourth-round pick -- fans will no doubt be disappointed to see he was unable to earn a spot on the 23-man roster. The 24-year-old heads back to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he registered one goal and three helpers last season.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Will stay with Pens
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado re-upped with Pittsburgh on a one-year, two-way contract Saturday.

Corrado -- who was acquired by the Penguins at the trade deadline -- will return to the Burgh for another year. The defenseman saw action in just two outings with Pittsburgh this season in which he averaged a mere 7:33 of ice time. With just eight career points, fantasy owners will no doubt want to seek out other options for their blue line.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Receives qualifying offer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was tendered a qualifying offer from the Penguins on Monday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Corrado, who was brought in from Toronto at the trade deadline, logged a mere two games for Pittsburgh last season. The blueliner is not known for his offensive contributions -- eight points in 71 career outings -- but he should provide some organizational depth heading into the 2017-18 campaign. If the restricted free agent does receive an offer from another team, Pittsburgh may opt to receive draft compensation rather than a matching deal.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Headed back to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was reassigned to the team's AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton affiliate Saturday.

Corrado was replaced on the top squad by David Warsofsky, but his departure for the minors shouldn't have a large impact given that he's drawn into just two contests for the Penguins this year. The 24-year-old defenseman did rack up eight PIM in his short time, but is unlikely to produce enough for viability in most fantasy formats.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Recalled from AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Corrado will swap in on the Penguins' blue line for Derrick Pouliot, who was assigned to the AHL in a corresponding move. The 23-year-old -- acquired from the Maple Leafs earlier this month -- skated in seven games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton prior to his recall, generating one assist and no goals.

Penguins' Frank Corrado: Gets shipped to Pittsburgh
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was traded to the Penguins by the Leafs for Eric Fehr, Steve Oleksy and a fourth-round pick, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports.

Corrado managed to suit up for the Leafs just twice this year, but he's been modestly productive at the AHL level, notching 12 points in 18 games. The 2011 fifth-rounder is coming up on his 24th birthday and still looking to break in as a full-time NHLer; he's going to have trouble doing that for a Penguins team that has a crowd on the blue line. For now, he'll probably continue plying his trade in the AHL.

Maple Leafs' Frank Corrado: Lands on waiver wire Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was waived by the Maple Leafs on Saturday, theScore reports.

Toronto claimed rearguard Alexey Marchenko -- formerly with Detroit -- off the waiver wire, which has deemed Corrado expendable. He only ended up playing in 41 games with the Buds since the start of the 2015-16 campaign, but could be an intriguing acquisition for a team needing speed on the back line. If Corrado doesn't find any suitors, then he may wind up with AHL Toronto.

Maple Leafs' Frank Corrado: Recalled from conditioning stint
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was called up from his conditioning stint in the minors Monday, Paul Hendrick of Leafs TV reports.

Corrado has played in just one game this season in which he logged 16:24 of ice time and recorded two PIM, a pair of hits, and one blocked shot. Barring injuries to other blueliners, the 23-year-old will likely find himself watching from the press box more often than not.

Maple Leafs' Frank Corrado: Sent to AHL on conditioning stint
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Corrado was sent to AHL Toronto for a conditioning stint Monday, Kristen Shilton of TSN reports.

The 23-year-old has been a healthy scratch in all but one game this year, so given his lack of injury, his conditioning assignment is a bit unorthodox. That said, getting him kickstarted in the minors could be a sign that he'll see more action with the Maple Leafs in the coming weeks.
