  • Anton Rodin: Signs overseas

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/21/17) Rodin agreed to terms on a contract with HC Davos of the Swiss National League on Tuesday.

The deal comes just a day after Rodin was given his unconditional release by Vancouver. While "never" might be too harsh of a word, it seems unlikely the 27-year-old will return for another shot in the NHL, instead playing closer to his hometown of Stockholm, Sweden.

Canucks' Anton Rodin: Sent down to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/2/17) Rodin was demoted to AHL Utica on Thursday.

Rodin failed to crack the game-day lineup during this latest call-up and will now head back to the minors -- although it could be a temporary salary cap related move given the Canucks are not back in action until Saturday. Conversely, the move could also indicate one of Vancouver's injured players -- most likely Brendan Gaunce (shoulder) -- is ready to come off injured reserve.

Canucks' Anton Rodin: Waived by Vancouver

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/29/17) The Canucks placed Rodin on waivers Friday.

Rodin hasn't made a meaningful impact at the NHL level since he was selected by the Canucks in the second round of the 2009 draft, so this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. If he goes unclaimed, he'll be assigned to AHL Utica, where he'll almost certainly spend the majority of the 2017-18 campaign.

Canucks' Anton Rodin: Will hit waiver wire

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/29/17) Rodin was waived Friday for the purpose of reassignment.

Rodin logged just six games between the NHL and AHL last season, tallying a pair of helpers. With his knee back to 100 percent, the winger undoubtedly will be disappointed as he heads back to AHL Utica, but Rodin should be on the shortlist of potential call-ups throughout the year.

Canucks' Anton Rodin: Struggles in preseason debut

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/17/17) Rodin (knee) participated in Sunday's 9-4 exhibition home loss to the Golden Knights, finishing with a minus-1 rating, two shots on goal and a giveaway over 12:06 of ice time.

While the performance left a lot to be desired, it's great that Rodin was able to play in the first place. He underwent offseason knee surgery and a report last month suggested that he could be held out of regular-season games until he's 100 percent. The Swede has plenty of scoring potential, but given that he's only drawn into three games with the Canucks since they took him in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2009 draft, fantasy owners probably don't know what they're missing.
