  • Ducks' Reto Berra: Falters in AHL start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/26/17) Berra, who was sent to AHL San Diego on Friday, stopped 20 of 23 shots in a 4-1 home loss to Bakersfield that night.

The Swiss backstop was reassigned to the AHL with Ryan Miller returning from a lower-body injury in time to face the Kings on Saturday. It's not worth holding onto a third-string goalie like Berra in fantasy, but at least it's clear where he stands within the organization when injuries strike the more established netminders.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Turns away 40 in win over Sharks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/21/17) Berra saved 40 of 42 shots and six shootout attempts during Monday's 3-2 win over San Jose.

This was an impressive showing from the journeyman backup, especially since it was also just his second start of the season. With Ryan Miller nursing a lower-body injury, Berra projects to remain John Gibson's understudy until Miller is healthy enough to take the net. Additionally, following Monday's strong outing, Berra would be worth considering as a streaming option or low-priced flier in daily contests when receiving the starting nod. Anaheim has an upcoming back-to-back set beginning Nov. 24 at home against Winnipeg followed by a road game against Los Angeles on Nov. 25. It's unlikely Gibson makes both starts.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Fills in for injured Ryan Miller

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/10/17) Berra stopped all six shots he faced in relief of Ryan Miller, who sustained a lower-body injury Thursday against the Canucks.

With John Gibson (head) sidelined, Berra has slid into the backup role for the Ducks. It's unknown if Miller's lower-body injury is serious, but if that's the case, Berra could see some more crease time in the near future. He owns a lackluster .903 career save percentage, so even if he does take over the starting gig, it's hard to recommend him as a serviceable fantasy option.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Promoted from minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/8/17) Berra was called up from AHL San Diego on Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Berra's promotion all but rules John Gibson (head) out for Thursday's clash with Vancouver and -- reading between the lines -- likely clears the way for Ryan Miller to get the start, although the team has not provided an official confirmation. In his lone minor-league appearance, Berra gave up three goals on 41 shots, walking away with the victory and a .927 save percentage. The 30-year-old will almost certainly head back to the Gulls once Gibson is back to 100 percent.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Placed on waivers

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/3/17) Berra was placed on waivers Friday, Elliotte Friedman reports.

With John Gibson and Ryan Miller both finally healthy, there wasn't room left for Berra on Anaheim's main roster. If he isn't claimed, Berra will likely head down to the AHL with the Gulls.
