  • Sharks' Troy Grosenick: Returns to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/26/18) Grosenick was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Friday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Grosenick was originally summoned to back up Aaron Dell while Martin Jones (undisclosed) was on injured reserve. Jones is expected to return after the All-Star break, so Grosenick will remain in the minors for the time being.

Sharks' Troy Grosenick: Called up to big stage

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/20/18) Grosenick was called up from AHL San Jose on Friday, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.

Starting goalie Martin Jones is suspected to be dealing with an ailment of some sort, so Grosenick will be on hand for Saturday's home game against the Penguins. The Wisconsin native hasn't played in an NHL game since 2014-15, and he's appeared in just two games total at the highest level, so he won't have tangible fantasy value unless Jones takes a turn for the worse.

Sharks' Troy Grosenick: Dropped by Sharks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/2/17) Grosenick was waived by the Sharks on Monday, Rick Ralph of TSN 1290 Winnipeg reports.

The undrafted netminder who calls Wisconsin home hasn't appeared in an NHL game since doing so with the Sharks in the 2014-15 campaign. However, given that he's been associated with Team Teal's top development affiliate for four years and counting, this tells us that he's most likely to become a career AHLer and therefore has no fantasy value.

Sharks' Troy Grosenick: Inks two-year extension with Sharks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/5/17) Grosenick signed a two-year contract extension with the Sharks on Monday.

Grosenick hasn't seen action in the NHL since the 2014-15 season, when he started two games for the Sharks and posted a 1-1 record while recording the first ever shutout in a goalie's debut in franchise history. Most recently, Grosenick has been spending time in the AHL and was presented with the league's Aldege Bastien Award following the 2016-17 campaign, which is given to the league's top goaltender. However, the 27-year-old is not guaranteed significant playing time heading into next season.

Sharks' Troy Grosenick: Placed on waivers

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/3/16) Grosenick was waived by the Sharks on Monday for the purpose of reassignment to AHL San Jose, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Grosenick lost out to Aaron Dell in a training camp battle for the back-up job, although Dell was the favorite heading in. If he is unclaimed, Grosenick will return to the minors where he registered a 11-10-4 record along with a 3.16 GAA, something fans and the organization alike will want to see lowered this year. In addition to the netminder, the Sharks also waived defenseman Dan Kelly.
