Grosenick cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocol and was added to the taxi squad, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.
In a corresponding move, Jacob Ingham was assigned to AHL Ontario. Grosenick -- who hasn't played an NHL game since the 2014-15 season -- will add depth in the crease behind Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen.
The Kings assigned Grosenick (COVID-19 protocols) to AHL Ontario after claiming him off waivers Saturday, Zach Dooley of LAKingsInsider.com reports.
Grosenick will be traveling from Canada, so he'll likely have to undergo a lengthy quarantine before joining Ontario. The 31-year-old could get a look with the Kings' taxi squad once he clears the NHL's virus protocols.
Grosenick has been claimed off waivers by the Kings, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Grosenick started the season with LA, but was claimed off waivers by the Oilers in Jan. 16, only to be scooped up by the Kings after being waived by Edmonton three weeks later. He'll likely replace Jacob Ingham as LA's taxi squad netminder once he completes his mandatory quarantine.
Grosenick was placed on waivers by Edmonton on Friday.
Grosenick is back on waivers after being claimed by the Oilers in mid-January. If he clears, which is far from guaranteed, the move would allow the 31-year-old Wisconsin native to be placed on the taxi squad and for Mike Smith (undisclosed) to be activated off long-term injured reserve.
Grosenick was added to the active roster Saturday.
Grosenick has completed his quarantine and will back up Mikko Koskinen in Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs. The 31-year-old hasn't played an NHL game since the 2014-15 season, but he's been solid in the AHL since then, including a .920 save percentage over 33 games last season. The Oilers play again Sunday against the Senators, so there's a chance he'll draw the start then.
Grosenick (COVID-19 protocols) was on the ice for Friday's practice session.
Grosenick was finally able to practice with the Oilers after being claimed by the team off waivers back on Jan. 16. Once activated off non-roster injured reserve, Grosenick could see opportunities to start with Mike Smith (undisclosed) still unavailable. With a back-to-back on the schedule, Grosenick could get the nod as early as Sunday's matchup with Toronto.
Grosenick was claimed off of waivers by the Oilers on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Grosenick, 31, has played in two NHL games with the Sharks in 2014-15. The Oilers were desperate for a goalie after Mike Smith (undisclosed) went on long-term injured reserve Friday. Grosenick will likely slot in as the backup to Mikko Koskinen for the foreseeable future.
Grosenick was put on waivers Friday in order to assign him to the Kings' taxi squad.
Grosenick was brought up to the Kings' main squad because Cal Petersen was out with COVID-19 issues, and as the No. 3 man on the totem pole, he was always going to be heading down as soon as Petersen was deemed fit to play. Grosenick isn't likely to see action unless something happens to both Jonathan Quick and Petersen, so he'd only be an option in daily leagues, and only if the day ever comes when both of the Kings' regular goalies are deemed unable to play.
Grosenick signed a contract with the Kings on Saturday.
The 31-year-old netminder has played in just two NHL games during his career, but he's been a fantastic AHL goalie. Last season with AHL Milwaukee, Grosenick posted a .920 save percentage, a 2.29 GAA and a 20-9-3 record. He won't get an opportunity with the big club unless either Jonathan Quick or Cal Petersen get hurt, but he should give AHL Ontario a chance to win every night, something that will be key to developing the Kings' prospects.
Grosenick will be between the pipes for Monday's preseason matchup with Florida, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Grosenick went 24-20-1 with a .919 save percentage for AHL Milwaukee last season. The Wisconsin native hasn't played in an NHL game since 2014-15 when he was with San Jose and likely will have to spend the bulk of the 2019-20 season in the minors as well.
Grosenick was sent down to AHL Milwaukee on Saturday.
Grosenick was called upon in a pinch, with Juuse Saros falling ill Friday. The 29-year-old will head back to the minors, where he is 19-14-5 while posting a 2.49 GAA and .917 save percentage through 40 games.
Grosenick was called up from AHL Milwaukee under emergency conditions Friday.
With Juuse Saros falling ill, the Predators needed to recall Grosenick for depth in the crease. In the minors this season, Grosenick is 19-14-5 while posting a 2.49 GAA and .917 save percentage through 40 games. The Wisconsin native also signed a one-year, two-way deal with Nashville earlier in March.
Grosenick inked a one-year, two-way deal with Nashville on Friday.
Grosenick is 14-12-0 with a .918 save percentage in 31 appearances for AHL Milwaukee this season. The Wisconsin native figures to spend the bulk of the 2019-20 campaign in the minors, but he should be the first one called up if either of the Preds' netminders picks up an injury.
Grosenick was returned to AHL Milwaukee on Friday.
Grosenick was called up Thursday before news finally broke that Juuse Saros (illness) would miss the overtime road game against the Blue Jackets. No.1 goalie Pekka Rinne went the distance in that one, preventing Grosenick from seeing his first action at the top level since the 2014-15 campaign with the Sharks. He's not a viable fantasy option.
Grosenick was summoned from AHL Milwaukee on an emergency basis Thursday.
Details are pending on this item, but Grosenick getting called up suggests that something isn't right with either No. 1 goalie Pekka Rinne or Nashville's traditional backup, Juuse Saros. The Predators are in Columbus preparing for a 7:00 p.m. ET contest versus the Blue Jackets -- we might not know which Nashville goalie will start until warmups, so consider setting daily lineups as late as possible.
Grosenick was sent down to AHL Milwaukee on Wednesday.
In order to make way for Pekka Rinne (undisclosed) to be activated off IR, Grosenick had to be reassigned to the minors. The Brookfield, Wisconsin native didn't take the ice during his stint with the Preds and will return to the Admirals, for whom he is 3-0-0 with a .918 save percentage.
Grosenick was summoned to the NHL by the Predators on Monday.
With Pekka Rinne (undisclosed) on injured reserve, Grosenick figures to serve as the backup to Juuse Saros. The 29-year-old Grosenick is undefeated in three games with AHL Milwaukee this season to go with a .918 save percentage and 3.64 GAA. In a corresponding move, Miroslav Svoboda will join the Admirals as Grosenick's replacement.
San Jose traded Grosenick and Brandon Bolling to Nashville for a sixth-round selection in the 2018 draft.
Grosenick owns a 6-9-2 record in 20 AHL appearances this season, registering a 2.98 GAA and .902 save percentage. This was a very inconsequential acquisition, as he will likely just be stashed away in AHL Milwaukee.
Grosenick was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Friday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Grosenick was originally summoned to back up Aaron Dell while Martin Jones (undisclosed) was on injured reserve. Jones is expected to return after the All-Star break, so Grosenick will remain in the minors for the time being.
Grosenick was called up from AHL San Jose on Friday, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
Starting goalie Martin Jones is suspected to be dealing with an ailment of some sort, so Grosenick will be on hand for Saturday's home game against the Penguins. The Wisconsin native hasn't played in an NHL game since 2014-15, and he's appeared in just two games total at the highest level, so he won't have tangible fantasy value unless Jones takes a turn for the worse.
