  • Maple Leafs' Jordan Subban: Placed on waivers

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/30/18) Subban was sent to waivers by Toronto on Sunday.

Subban is still chasing his NHL debut after being traded from Vancouver to Los Angeles last season before the Kings decided to let him go in the offseason. The 23-year-old scored just four goals and 13 points in 52 AHL contests last year, but did score 16 goals and 36 points during the 2016-17 campaign with AHL Utica.

Maple Leafs' Jordan Subban: Ready to re-kindle NHL dream

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/6/18) Subban is hoping to re-ignite his career with the Maple Leafs, reports the Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun.

Subban was scooped up by the Leafs after the Kings cut him. He has offensive upside, but the 5-foot-9, 175-pound defender needs to improve his own-zone play to carve out a career in the NHL. Subban spent the summer in Toronto working with Matt Nichol's high-profile, high-performance Bio-Steel group. He will likely spend the season with the AHL Marlies, but a good year there could get him close to his NHL dream.

Maple Leafs' Jordan Subban: Garners two-way deal with Toronto

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/1/18) Subban signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Maple Leafs on Sunday.

Subban was deemed expendable by the Canucks, but this still checks out as a quality, low-key signing for the Maple Leafs after they courted mega-star John Tavares. Subban has strong hockey bloodlines as the brother of Nashville defenseman P.K. Subban and Malcom Subban, the current No. 2 goalie for the Golden Knights. However, the youngest Subban may start the 2018-19 season in the minors.

Jordan Subban: Not extended by Kings

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/25/18) Subban did not receive a qualifying offer from the Kings on Monday, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports. As a result, he's set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Subban was traded from the Canucks in exchange for Nic Dowd last December, but he's still trying to prove that he belongs in the NHL. He definitely deserves recognition beyond being the younger brother of Predators star blueliner P.K. and Golden Knights backup netminder Malcolm, but so far, his minor-league numbers haven't been loud enough -- he's tallied 31 goals and 54 assists to counter a minus-29 rating over 184 AHL appearances.

Kings' Jordan Subban: Dealt to Kings

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/8/17) Subban was traded to the Kings on Thursday night in exchange for the Canucks receiving Nic Dowd.

Subban has yet to make his NHL debut, and there's no guarantee that he breaks in with the Kings this season, but he'll assuredly be a viable injury replacement if injuries strike the defensive corps for the royal club. Prior to this trade, he'd added five assists and 13 PIM over 16 games for AHL Utica as part of the 2017-18 campaign.
