  • Golden Knights' Max Lagace: Recalled, will back up Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/9/19) Lagace was summoned from AHL Chicago on Wednesday, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports. He will serve as the backup netminder Thursday versus the Sharks.

Lagace will sub in for Malcolm Subban (illness) and will be the available body should Marc-Andre Fleury be forced to leave early. Given that Subban is dealing with a bug, it's possible Lagace's stay with the Golden Knights will be a short one.

Golden Knights' Max Lagace: Ekes out shootout win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/23/18) Lagace stopped 20 of 24 shots Saturday in a 5-4 shootout road win over the Sharks. This was his preseason debut.

Lagace's final stat line leaves a lot to be desired, but he showed tremendous resolve in hanging on through the shootout frame. The Canadian backstop is slotted behind Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban on the organizational depth chart.

Golden Knights' Max Lagace: Set to start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/22/18) Legace will start between the pipes against San Jose on Saturday, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

Legace, the third goalie on the Golden Knights' depth chart, will get the starting nod in this exhibition. Vegas appears to be taking it easy with Marc-Andre Fleury's backup, Malcolm Subban (ankle) in the preseason, though he has been participating in practice.

Golden Knights' Max Lagace: Staying in Vegas

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/1/18) Lagace signed a contract with the Golden Knights on Sunday. According to CapFriendly, this is a one-year deal valued at $650,000.

Due to a rash of injuries affecting Vegas' goalies this past season, Lagace was thrown into the fire, and he ended up appearing in his first 16 NHL games. Over that span, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder recorded a 3.92 GAA and .867 save percentage. No one will be mistaking those for quality rate stats, but the important thing is that Lagace still fashioned a respectable 6-7-1 record and did a fine job holding down the fort while No. 1 tender Marc-Andre Fleury was out of commision. Lagace will probably start the 2018-19 campaign in the AHL, but since he's apparently earned the trust of GM George McPhee, he could be a call-up candidate if injuries once again threaten the team.

Golden Knights' Max Lagace: Demoted to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/15/18) Lagace was sent down to AHL Chicago on Thursday.

Lagace was serving as the backup goaltender behind Marc-Andre Fleury with Malcolm Subban (upper body) on injured reserve. While nothing is official, this could be a hint at Subban returning soon. At any rate, Lagace has struggled at the NHL level in his rookie season. The 25-year-old owns a 3.91 GAA and .867 save percentage in 16 appearances.
