  • Golden Knights' Reid Duke: Sent back down to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/10/18) Duke was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Monday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Duke didn't get into any game action in the time he was up with Vegas. His NHL debut will have to wait until the next time he gets called up. That is, if he actually makes the lineup that time.

Golden Knights' Reid Duke: Promoted to top level

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/5/18) The Golden Knights recalled Duke from AHL Chicago on Wednesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Duke was actually the first player to join the Golden Knights when he signed an entry-level contract with the expansion franchise last March, but this is the first time he's been on the team's active roster during the regular season. The 22-year-old forward has been pretty productive in the minors this year, notching six goals and 13 points in 22 appearances. His first opportunity to make his NHL debut will come Thursday against Chicago.

Golden Knights' Reid Duke: Rehabbing before practice

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/24/18) Duke (shoulder) has been doing some rehab work on the ice prior to practice, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Duke is still regaining his health after undergoing shoulder surgery prior to the start of the season. Assuming he's still on his original recovery timetable, the 21-year-old could be ready to go sometime between February and April. Duke likely won't see any NHL action yet, as he's yet to make his pro debut.

Golden Knights' Reid Duke: Will miss 4-6 months

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/4/17) Duke (shoulder) will be sidelined for the first 4-6 months of the 2017-18 season, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Duke originally sustained the injury on Sept. 14 in a rookie game, and now it's confirmed he'll be out until at least after the All-Star break. The Canadian posted an impressive 71-point campaign last season in the WHL, and could be in the running for a bottom-six role if he's able to return before the end of the 2017-18 campaign. He'll likely be placed on injured reserve soon.

Golden Knights' Reid Duke: Out indefinitely with undisclosed ailment

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/16/17) Duke missed Friday's practice due to an undisclosed injury that he originally sustained in a rookie game two days prior, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, adding that the center has no timetable for his return.

The 21-year-old may actually be a recognizable name associated with the nascent franchise, as Duke became the first Golden Knight to sign a contract -- he earned a three-year, entry-level deal in early March and rounded out 2016-17 with 71 points in 59 regular-season games for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. Even if he takes awhile to recover, Vegas should give him ample chances to prove his worth.
