Pollock didn't earn a qualifying offer from the Flames, making him a free agent.
Pollock spent last season exclusively in the AHL, playing 53 games and collecting 12 points in the process. The Canadian is only 23 years old, and could warrant a deal elsewhere should he get the opportunity.
Pollock was acquired by the Flames as part of the deal for Kris Russell prior to Monday's trade deadline, The Dallas Morning News reports.
Also heading north were Jyrki Jokipakka and a second-round pick. The Stars' second-round pick in 2014, Pollock is scoring at a career-high rate for WHL Edmonton this year (67 points in 63 games), but the 19-year-old's size and offensive ability conspire to make him an intriguing long-term asset for a Calgary team that's building for the future.
Pollock scored twice and added an assist in WHL Edmonton's 5-2 win over Kootenay on Saturday.
Pollock added a game-high 11 shots on goal for good measure. The 2014 second-round draft selection is having a great season for the Oil Kings with 13 goals and 36 points in 36 games. Pollock, who is in his final season of junior hockey, signed his entry-level deal with the Stars earlier this month.
The Stars signed Pollock to a three-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday.
