Joel Vermin: Heading home on five-year deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin signed a five-year contract with Lausanne HC of National League A in Switzerland on Tuesday, Swiss Hockey News reports.

It's back to the home country for Vermin, whom the Lightning took with a seventh-round pick in the 2013 draft. The 25-year-old only appeared in 24 games with the Bolts, tacking on four assists.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Assigned to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was sent down to AHL Syracuse on Sunday.

Vermin only found his way into one game in his time up, notching just one shot in 10:16. With the Lightning out of the playoffs, this move marks the end of Vermin's NHL season.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Back with top club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was promoted from the team's AHL affiliate Monday after being sent down earlier in the day, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Lightning have shifted bodies around repeatedly of late, with Vermin being a consistent name among them. With only four games remaining in the regular season, this should come to an end in the near future. Despite his ascendance to the top level, the 25-year-old has only drawn into 17 games with Tampa Bay this season and doesn't possess much fantasy upside.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Scratched and likely returned to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin is scratched from Sunday's game against the Stars and will be returned to AHL Syracuse, Erik Erlendsson of Lightning Insider reports.

With Tyler Johnson back in the lineup Sunday, there is no need for Vermin to remain on the active roster and he will head back to the minors as a result. The 25-year-old did not manage any points in six games for the big club this time around.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Stays with big club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin, who originally thought he was headed to AHL Syracuse, ended up staying in Tampa Bay ahead of Saturday's game against the Candiens, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The depth winger remains with the parent club as the result of Tyler Johnson (lower body), Steven Stamkos (knee) and Cedric Paquette (lower body) all deemed unfit to play in the next contest. But since his playing time depends on the health of others, there's nothing to look at here from a fantasy perspective, especially this late in the season.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Returns to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Friday.

Vermin is a frequent traveler about the organization's ranks, sometimes pinballing back and forth multiple times in a single week. At the bare minimum, fantasy owners need a guy with consistent playing time in the NHL.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Returns to top club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Wednesday.

Vermin was sent to the minors just two days ago, but the absence of multiple bodies ahead of Thursday's contest against the Red Wings necessitated that he be called back. He's drawn into each of the last four games for the club, but Vermin doesn't see much ice time and provides little fantasy appeal.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Reassigned to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was sent down to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday.

Given the Lightning's propensity for shuffling players back and forth between leagues, Vermin's demotion could be a sign that either Tyler Johnson (lower body) or Cedric Paquette (lower body) is close to returning, or it could just be a paper transaction designed to save Tampa Bay some salary-cap dollars. The team doesn't suit up again until Thursday against the Red Wings, so more information regarding the potential return of injured players should be forthcoming.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Journeys back to Tampa Bay
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was again recalled by the Lightning on Monday.

Vermin continues to get juggled between the two levels, being promoted and demoted numerous times this season. He doesn't see enough action at the top level even when he plays, so it's unlikely the winger will obtain enough fantasy value this season to be worthy of ownership down the stretch.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Reassigned Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was sent down to AHL Syracuse on Sunday.

The winger was scratched in both games after he was called up, serving only as some extra depth on the bench. His reassignment seems to signal the return of one of the many injured Lightning forwards.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Takes path back to big club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was recalled from AHL Syracuse in advance of Saturday's home game against the Capitals, Lightning Insider reports.

The organizational shuffler will be on hand in case Ondrej Palat (undisclosed) can't give it a go in the next contest. Vermin's done OK with the Crunch this season (28 points in 43 games), but getting called up this late reminds us that he's waiver fodder in virtually any fantasy league.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Sent back to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Wednesday.

As a rookie, Vermin's role has naturally been limited the season; he's averaged 11:20 of ice time per contest, contributing three helpers in an 11-game span. The Bolts don't play again until Friday, so there's a chance that he could return to the big club before then -- it largely depends on the health of Ryan Callahan, who is working his way back from a hip injury.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Promoted to big club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Lightning recalled Vermin from AHL Syracuse on Saturday.

Ondrej Palat is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, so Vermin will round out Tampa Bay's depth at forward while the veteran winger is in recovery mode. The 24-year-old forward has been pretty productive in the minors this season, notching 17 points in 27 games with AHL Syracuse, but will likely be reassigned as soon as Palat is fit to play.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Reassigned to AHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was sent down to AHL Syracuse on Sunday.

The winger only logged 5:17 in his one contest in the NHL. His departure from Tampa Bay likely signals a return from injury by J.T. Brown (face), who Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports is close to coming back.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Will play Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin (undisclosed) will play in Thursday's game in San Jose.

The winger hasn't played yet since being called up on Sunday, so it's unclear what to expect from him this time up. With two points in his first game, and then no scoring in his next seven, it would be safe to assume he will be a low impact player against the Sharks, who allow the fourth fewest goals per game in the league with 2.31.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Game-time call Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Thursday night against the Sharks.

Vermin has only drawn into 14 games since making his NHL debut in November of 2015. The Swiss national doesn't play enough to warrant fantasy attention.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Recalled from Syracuse
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was promoted from AHL Syracuse on Sunday, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

While Vermin hasn't had much of a run with the Lightning this season, the 24-year-old winger has notched 13 points (seven goals, six assists) with the Crunch. He will essentially replace Matthew Peca (sent back to Syracuse on Saturday) on the active roster, but it's unlikely he will produce enough to obtain fantasy value in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Demoted to AHL Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Monday.

After an excellent first game with the Lightning, Vermin cooled off considerably and did not even manage a shot on goal in his last four games. The Swiss national will continue to work on his game in Syracuse, where he notched seven goals and four assists before being recalled by the big club.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Notches two points in season debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin picked up a pair of assists in his season debut Thursday, a 5-4 loss to the Blues.

A seventh-round pick by the Bolts in 2013, Vermin has never broken out in a big way at the AHL level, and his lone point in six NHL games last year didn't offer much promise either. This was a great start for a new season at hockey's highest level, as he clicked well with Jonathan Drouin and Cedric Paquette, but don't get your hopes too high.

Lightning's Joel Vermin: Called up from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Vermin was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Wednesday.

Vermin, a low-end winger, hasn't played at all this season, but the Bolts need the depth as Ryan Callahan deals with a lower-body ailment.
