LaDue was put on waivers by the Islanders on Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. LaDue recorded eight assists and 33 PIM in 49 games with AHL Bridgeport in 2022-23. If he clears waivers, LaDue is likely to report back to Bridgeport.... See More ... See Less

Islanders' Paul LaDue: Waived Sunday
LaDue was waived by the Islanders on Sunday, per CapFriendly. LaDue has appeared in just three NHL games since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. The 30-year-old blueliner scored 12 points in 60 games with AHL Bridgeport last season and will likely spend the 2022-23 campaign there again.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Paul LaDue: Snags two-way deal
LaDue agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Tuesday. LaDue has played in just three NHL contests over the last three seasons, including a single outing for the Isles last year in which he logged 12:47 of ice time. The 29-year-old North Dakota native does have 70 games of NHL experience and will likely at least get a look for a potential roster spot during training camp. Still, the fact that LaDue is on a two-way deal likely means he will once again play the bulk of his games in the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Paul LaDue: Returns to AHL
LaDue was reassigned to AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday, per CapFriendly. LaDue got into one game with the Islanders, posting a minus-2 rating and two hits versus the Rangers. He'll serve as defensive depth for the organization going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Paul LaDue: Recalled from minors
LaDue was promoted from AHL Bridgeport on Saturday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. LaDue, along with fellow recall Grant Hutton, will be immediately inserted into the lineup versus Calgary on Saturday after Adam Pelech and Andy Greene were placed in the NHL COVID-19 protocols. For his part, LaDue hasn't played in an NHL game since 2019-20, when he saw action in two games for the Kings.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Paul LaDue: Waived Wednesday
LaDue was waived by the Islanders on Wednesday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. LaDue didn't appear in an NHL contest last season and only drew into two games with the Kings in 2019-20, so this move was expected. Look for him to stick with AHL Bridgeport for most, if not all of the 2021-22 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Paul LaDue: Lands contract with Islanders
LaDue signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Islanders on Thursday, CapFriendly reports. LaDue spent the entirety of the 2020-21 season in the minors, notching eight points through 18 games with AHL Hershey. The 29-year-old blueliner will likely spend most, if not all of the upcoming campaign with AHL Bridgeport.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Paul LaDue: Promoted Wednesday
LaDue was recalled from AHL Hershey on Wednesday. LaDue, along with Connor McMichael, Brett Leason and Alexander Alexeyev, was added to the Capitals' roster but won't be making the trip to Boston for Games 3 or 4. As such, fantasy players shouldn't be expecting to see these guys on the ice anytime soon.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Paul LaDue: Moved to AHL
LaDue was reassigned from Washington's taxi squad to AHL Hershey on Monday. Fellow defenseman Martin Fehervary was added to the taxi squad from Hershey in a corresponding transaction. The 28-year-old LaDue appeared in 69 NHL games with the Kings between 2016-17 and 2019-20, but he hasn't seen the ice with Washington this season.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Paul LaDue: On waivers Monday
LaDue was placed on waivers Monday, JJ Regan of NBC Sports Washington reports. LaDue signed a one-year contract with the Capitals in October, but the subsequent bargain contracts to Zdeno Chara and Trevor van Riemsdyk pushed him down the depth chart and out of contention for a roster spot in the interim months. LaDue will report to AHL Hershey should he clear waivers and look to build on the 27 points he garnered with AHL Ontario during the 2019-20 season.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Paul LaDue: Joins Capitals
LaDue signed a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Capitals on Saturday. LaDue joins the Capitals after spending the previous five years in the Kings' organization. In 2019-20, LaDue has an assist in two games at the NHL level. He also produced nine goals and 27 points with AHL Ontario in his most productive campaign yet. The Capitals have made an emphasis to add defensive depth since free agency opened Friday -- LaDue is the fourth blueliner they've signed. The 28-year-old figures to see most of his time in the minors, but he would likely be near the top of the list of recall candidates should injuries arise.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Sent down a level
LaDue was demoted to AHL Ontario on Monday. LaDue appeared in just two games during his NHL stint, spending most of his time as a healthy scratch. The 6-foot-1 blueliner will head back to AHL Ontario, where he's tallied six points in 18 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Records helper in win
LaDue picked up an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Jets. It's the first point of the season for LaDue, coming in his first game. The 27-year-old defenseman had five points in 33 games for the Kings last year. He'll likely return to AHL Ontario when Alec Martinez (wrist) is ready to reenter the lineup.... See More ... Kings' Paul LaDue: Brought up to big club
L.A. recalled LaDue from AHL Ontario on Wednesday. The Kings are dealing with several injuries at defense, so LaDue will round out the team's depth on the back end until Alec Martinez (wrist) or Derek Forbort (back) is ready to return. The 27-year-old has notched six points in 18 games with Ontario this season.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Sent to waivers
LaDue was placed on waivers for purpose of demotion to AHL Ontario on Sunday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports. LaDue has split time between the AHL and NHL levels over the last three seasons and will likely do the same during the 2019-20 campaign. The 27-year-old was injured heading into camp and didn't get as many reps as some of the other on-the-fence skaters.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Unlikely hero Monday
LaDue scored the game-winning goal Monday versus the Blues. LaDue was a healthy scratch for 10 straight games and 18 of the last 22, but he was the hero in this outing. LaDue hauled in a pass from Brendan Leipsic and rocketed a slap shot past Jordan Binnington to mark his first goal since Oct. 7. However, the recency bias of this performance may wear off before the Kings' next game versus the Islanders on Feb. 2, so he's not guaranteed to stay out of the press box then.... See More ... Kings' Paul LaDue: Shaping up as healthy scratch
LaDue, who has missed the past eight games, no longer carries an injury designation, according to Robby Stanley of NHL.com, but the defenseman is still projected to be a healthy scratch for Saturday's road game against the Predators. LaDue is confirmed to be on the active roster, as opposed to injured reserve. However, the reason for his extended absence was never disclosed.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Remains out Friday
LaDue (undisclosed) won't play Friday versus the Blackhawks, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports. LaDue will sit out for his eighth straight game due to an unknown injury. He participated in warmups, so Ladue appears to be nearing return. Oscar Fantenberg will continue to take his place in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Sitting out Tuesday
LaDue (undisclosed) won't play Tuesday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports. LaDue will miss his seventh straight with this mystery condition. This will keep Oscar Fantenberg in the lineup, and LaDue's next chance to play will be Friday against the Blackhawks.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Paul LaDue: Remains sidelined
LaDue (undisclosed) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Wild. LaDue's absence will continue to test the Kings' depth at defense, but it shouldn't impact many fantasy lineups, as he's only totaled five points in 17 appearances over the past two campaigns. Another update on the 26-year-old blueliner's status should surface once he's ready to rejoin the lineup.... See More ... See Less

Stan Fischler@StanFischler2D agoDepartment of Not-Really Coincidence: Last night, Portland Winterhawks grad, Seth Jarvis helped the @Canes beat the @NYIslanders. During the day, Hawks goalie Jan Spunar was named WHL Goalie of the Week. The 19-year-old Czech is undrafted! NHL needs net minders; Jan could be 1.

Stan Fischler@StanFischler2D agoIn Hockey 101 there should be a class called "How To Win Despite 'The Dreaded 3-Goal Lead.' Hard to believe that it happened again but TD3GL did in the @NYIslanders again in the most painful (what else?) of ways in Raleigh last night. It's now Bounce Back Time at the new Corral.

Stan Fischler@StanFischler4D agoGood try for @NYIslanders in the opener in Raleigh. The @Canes proved their worth with exceptional goaltending and a pair of timely goals. Another effort like the one in Game One will give the Isles a shot at tying the series. My question: Does Patrick Roy start Varly or Ilya?

Stan Fischler@StanFischler5D agoSince The Hockey News Yearbook forecast a @Canes Stanley Cup triumph, I guess the @NYIslanders have quite a challenge ahead. Well, they had one in the homestretch and, heroically, met that challenge. That's hockey. Whatever happens, I wish them well.
