  • Hurricanes' Dan Renouf: Joins Hurricanes organization

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/2/18) Renouf signed an one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Monday.

The deal is for $650,000 at the NHL level and a mere $70,000 at the AHL level. After going undrafted, Renouf was signed by the Red Wings in 2016. However, the 24-year-old only got one game in the NHL, spending the rest of his time with AHL Grand Rapids. It already feels like Renouf is a career AHLer at this point, but every team needs organizational depth.

Dan Renouf: Not qualified by Wings

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/25/18) Renouf was not extended a qualifying offer from the Red Wings, setting him up to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

Renouf was merely an organizational depth option for the Red Wings. The 24-year-old will be easy to replace since he only appeared in one NHL game since latching on as a free agent in March of 2016.

Red Wings' Dan Renouf: Sent back to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/2/17) Renouf was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Sunday, according to TSN.ca.

Renouf hit the ice in the Red Wings final preseason contest Saturday, but evidently didn't show enough to land a spot on the 23-man roster. The blueliner made his NHL debut last season, but will likely spend the bulk of the year in the minors.

Red Wings' Dan Renouf: Recalled Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/1/17) Renouf played in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over Toronto after being recalled earlier in the day.

Renouf's appearance was likely to provide the Wings the ability to rest some of their regular defenders. The 23-year-old made his NHL debut in 2016-17, suiting up for one game, but is a near-lock to be returned to AHL Grand Rapids for the start of the upcoming campaign.

Red Wings' Dan Renouf: Will start next season in minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/19/17) Renouf is a lock to start the 2017-18 campaign with AHL Grand Rapids, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

The Red Wings sorely need a power-play defenseman who can move the puck and complement Mike Green, but Renouf doesn't figure to be that guy -- at least right away. Listed at 6-foot-3, 209 pounds, the Ontario native reportedly is behind Robbie Russo on the organizational depth chart.
