  • Andrei Mironov: Returns to Russia

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/17/18) Mironov agreed to terms on a three-year deal with KHL club Dynamo Moskva on Thursday.

After being waived unconditionally by the Avalanche in March -- and then going unclaimed -- it was pretty clear the defenseman was going to need to head overseas to continue his career. Considering the 23-year-old spent five seasons with the Belo-golubye, it makes sense he re-joined his hometown club. Unless an NHL team can guarantee him a spot on the 23-man roster, it seems unlikely the 2015 fourth-round pick will return to North America.

    Andrei Mironov: Waived unconditionally

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/2/18) Mironov was placed on unconditional waivers by the Avalanche on Friday in order to terminate his contract, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Mironov played in just 10 games for Colorado this season, with his most recent outing coming Dec. 31 versus the Islanders. The defenseman was clearly not thrilled playing in the AHL and tallied a mere nine points in 26 minor-league contests. It seems likely the Russian will return home to suit up in the KHL, likely with the Moscow Dynamo, where he played from 2012-17.

Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Faces minor-league assignment

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/26/18) Mironov was assigned to AHL San Antonio on Monday, per the AHL's official transaction log.

Mironov didn't play any NHL games in this stint, but the rookie blueliner notched one goal and three assists in 10 games earlier this campaign. He's a gritty player willing to do what it takes to stay on the roster, though, as he had 19 hits and 16 blocked shots in that span as well, but 12 PIM is unappealing for a skater averaging 11:03 per game.

Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Headed back to NHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/19/18) Mironov was called up Monday from AHL San Antonio, per the AHL's official transaction log.

Although Mironov hasn't played in the NHL since Dec. 31, he'll immediately battle David Warsofsky for playing time, as Erik Johnson (upper body) and Anton Lindholm (upper body) were both ruled to be out indefinitely. The Russian isn't well known for his offensive impact however, and he's only posted nine points in (one goal, eight assists) 25 games this season in the minors. Through 10 contests in Colorado, Mironov has also averaged just 11:02 of ice time, and likely won't see more than a third pairing role if he makes the lineup.

Avalanche's Andrei Mironov: Descends to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/7/18) Mironov was assigned to AHL San Antonio on Sunday.

Although Mironov was rostered for six games, he only suited up for one, logging 12:22 of ice time and a minus-1 rating. The Avs' bye week ends Jan. 13, and unless Sesrgei Boikov (shoulder) recovers in time, expect Mironov to be recalled again.
