Beaudin will make his NHL debut Wednesday against the Sharks, Carter Baum of the Blackhawks' official site reports.
Beaudin hasn't exactly been lighting up the AHL this season, having notched just three goals and 15 points while posting a minus-5 rating in 59 games, but the Blackhawks are currently dealing with a laundry list of injuries on the back end, which led to the 2018 first-round pick's promotion. He'll likely play sheltered minutes during his NHL debut.
The Blackhawks recalled Beaudin from AHL Rockford on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old earned his first call-up to the big club Tuesday, and he's racked up 15 points in 59 AHL games this campaign. Beaudin could have a chance to jump into the lineup as early as Wednesday's game against San Jose with both Adam Boqvist and Lucas Carlsson dealing with concussions ahead of the contest.
Beaudin signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Blackhawks on Friday.
The Blackhawks took Beaudin with the 27th overall pick at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The offensive-minded defenseman has been highly productive over the past two seasons with his QMJHL club, racking up 13 goals and 78 points in just 77 appearances. He'll remain with his junior club for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign, but he'll likely start next season with AHL Rockford.
