Fairly shocking: Bolt loses 100-meter race
Lightning strikes second. If you'd like a little drama heading into the headlining Olympic track event in London, the men's 100-meter dash, you've got it. Who thought Usain Bolt was this vulnerable?

Lightning strikes second.
If you'd like a little drama heading into the headlining Olympic track event in London, the men's 100-meter dash, you've got it.
Who thought Usain Bolt was this vulnerable? The man has been predicting more golds, more world records and basically heaping upon himself expectations that, until now, were thought to be plausibly met.
But at Friday night's Jamaican national tracks trials (which, when it comes to men's track, are beginning to feel like the SEC to the rest of the world's college football), Bolt was beat by his own teammate. And it's probably someone you've not heard of, so get yourself acquianted.
Yohan Blake ran the fourth-fastest 100-meter dash in history, crossing the line in 9.75 seconds. Bolt was a relatively paced 9.86, taking second. Fellow 2008 Olympian Asafa Powell was just behind Bolt, taking third in 9.88.
The 22-year-old Blake has now qualified for his first Olympics.
In the track world this is big news. Blake did win the 2011 100-meter dash in the world championships last year, but Bolt was disqualified for that race. In a way, Blake's win wasn't seen as legitimate. Now, we have this. We have intra-country competition outside the U.S., and this will definitely create as much buzz as almost anything this side of the Michael Phelps-Ryan Lochte rivalry.
If you want more of this, it's coming. Blake and Bolt will sprint against each other Saturday in the 200-meter Jamaican national qualifying run (both expected to move on to the Olympics). That's the semifinal, though, with the final coming Sunday.
