After Allyson Felix and the U.S. women's team held off Jamaica in their 4x400-meter relay, the men's team followed suit in their race.

The Americans, led by LaShawn Merritt, finished in 2:50.30, with Jamaica coming in second with a 2:58.16 time. Bahamas (2:58.49) took the bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro.

Merritt was joined by Arman Hill, Tony McQuay and Gil Roberts in the final victory.

Merritt, who ran the final leg of the relay, won his second medal of the 2016 Games. He previously earned bronze in the men's 400-meter race.
