Volleyball: Despite injury to Berg, Team USA rolls again to sweep over Turkey
Team USA cruises to a undefeated record in group play with a sweep of Turkey, but suffer the loss of setter Lindsey Berg.
They lost their setter. They did not lose their cool.
After sustaining the injury to starting center Lindsey Berg in the second set, Team USA finished out with a 25-16 win, then swept Turkey in a six-point win in the third set. Team USA finished group play undefated after clinching a win in Group B play on Friday.
If star Destinee Hooker's offensive play had been on display throughout most of this tournament (and she lead all scorers with 19 points Saturday), her defense was on display against Turkey, with a number of stunning digs. Christ Harmotto and Foluke Akinradewo combined for a stunning 31 blocks as Team USA responded to a strong opening from Turkey.
Turkey actually lead by five early in the first set before a crushing run from Team USA opened the floodgates and Turkey never recovered.
