People don't often tune into figure skating for the music. That isn't to say that classical music isn't incredible, it's just not necessarily at the forefront of people's minds when they're watching athletes jump and spin in the air three times before landing and acting like their head isn't still spinning. Hungary's 19-year-old Ivett Toth changed all of that on Friday in South Korea, donning a black leather jacket with the likeness of AC/DC's Angus Young on the back and performing to "Thunderstruck" and "Back in Black", making her an instant crowd favorite.
Toth was a rockstar in her routine, striking poses to boot. She took the grace of figure skating and turned it on its head, putting a classic rock concert on for the fans in attendance. She instantly became a crowd favorite, and an internet favorite as well.
People were most impressed by her epic pose.

It's great to see competitors not only stepping out of their comfort zone, but bringing an entire sport's comfort zone with them. Lifetime figure skating fans were probably trying to figure what in the Blades of Glory was going on, but Toth was in it for her passion.
This chick’s dance was to an AC/DC medley. You wanna get me interested in Ice Dancing? Cause that’s how you get me interested in ice dancing. #IvettToth #PyeongChang2018 pic.twitter.com/jmNGqBc6tB

That’s Ivett Toth. She’s from Hungary. She’s skating to an @acdc medley. And she’s wearing an outfit with a picture of Angus on the back. So there’s a new leader in the clubhouse in the “things I never thought I’d see” contest. pic.twitter.com/fgRIdv9RKG

Toth may have finished off the podium, but she left a lasting impression on the fans. Next maybe we'll see someone skate to Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE." or Bruno Mars' "Finesse." OK, maybe not. but Toth definitely gave us some hope. She modernized the sport in her own way, and she deserves a shout-out for that.
