Statement win

The Los Angeles Galaxy found themselves with just eight points from nine matches and needed a win to jump-star their season. A huge road win at New York Red Bulls may be the win that gets them going. The Galaxy earned a convincing 3-1 win, with Giovani Dos Santos scoring a class penalty kick to put it away:

Nearly goal of the week

Portland's David Guzman almost had the goal of the week, and it could have decided the match with Atlanta, but this curling strike hit high off the post. What a goal this would have been:
