Cameroon and Australia played on Thursday in Group B at the Confederations Cup, and they drew 1-1. But really, they both lost. With three valuable points on the line for either, which would have greatly boosted their chance of advancing, the two played out a draw that saw each waste numerous chances. Cameroon struck in the first half but a second-half penalty from the Aussies saw each team depart with two points less than they had hoped. Here's how it went down:

Cameroon was strong in the first half but struggled to put chances on frame, that was until Andre Anguissa's lovely finish in the first minute of added time made it 1-0:

Cameroon had the lead and control, but just three of its 18 shots were on frame, giving the Socceroos a chance to strike back. And they did, as Mark Milligan converted a penalty kick on the hour mark that was confirmed by VAR. He finished low to the left with class:

From there, neither could get the result as each team's chances of advancing were dashed. Both are now two points behind Germany and Chile, who play later in the day.
