Monaco went on the road in the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday and secured an impressive 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund in the first leg, with young star Kylian Mbappe scoring twice.
After scoring three goals on the road at Manchester City in the last round, Monaco again produced away from home in a surprising result that saw the visitors receive some help to secure a more than favorable scoreline.
It wasn't the performance Dortmund wanted, but you can't blame the team after the crazy 24 hours it has just experienced, which saw its bus attacked and defender Marc Bartra injured.
Here's how the first leg unfolded:
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 19th minute with his thigh, but it shouldn't have counted as he was way offside:

Then an own goal from Sven Bender gave Monaco a shocking 2-0 lead 35 minutes in before Dortmund was able to pull one back.
Ousmane Dembele finished after some magic from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to make it 2-1:

It appeared as if the 2-1 result would hold, but both teams pushed forward for more and both got another.
Mbappe made it 3-1 with 11 minutes left with a glorious strike with power and curl:

Monaco gained full control with that goal until Shinji Kagawa pulled one back for Dortmund six minutes from time, but the team didn't have enough to draw level as Monaco escapes with a brilliant result.
With the way these two sides score at a rapid-fire pace, this tie is far from over. The second leg is April 19 in France.
