The UEFA Champions League group stage is over, and before the attention shifts towards the knockout stages which begin in February, first comes the draw for the round of 16 on Monday. The 16 teams remaining in the competition will be drawn against one another for the eight, two-leg ties to be played on Feb. 15-16 and Feb. 22-23. You can watch the draw live on Monday on CBS Sports HQ and Paramount+. After the first draw contained an error, UEFA is going to redraw the matchups.

What are the draw rules?

The eight group winners will be paired with the eight runners-up to form the matches for the round of 16. Teams will play the club they are paired with home and away for the right to move on to the quarterfinals. Teams that were in the same group in the group stage, such as PSG and Manchester City, cannot be drawn against each other in the round of 16. Teams from the same country also cannot be drawn against one another, so for example, Juventus cannot be drawn against Inter Milan.

Manchester City (Group A)

  • Possible opponents (6): Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Inter Milan, Benfica, Villarreal/Atalanta, Salzburg

Liverpool (Group B)

  • Possible opponents (6): PSG, Sporting, Inter Milan, Benfica, Villarreal/Atalanta, Salzburg

Ajax (Group C)

  • Possible opponents (7): PSG, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Benfica, Villarreal/Atalanta, Salzburg, Chelsea 

Real Madrid (Group D)

  • Possible opponents (5 or 6): PSG, Sporting, Benfica, Salzburg, Chelsea (Atalanta if they advance) 

Bayern Munich (Group E)

  • Possible opponents (7): PSG, Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Inter Milan, Villarreal/Atalanta, Salzburg, Chelsea 

Manchester United (Group F)

  • Possible opponents (6): PSG, Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Inter Milan, Benfica, Salzburg 

Lille (Group G)

  • Possible opponents (6): Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Inter Milan, Benfica, Villarreal/Atalanta, Chelsea 

Juventus (Group H)

  • Possible opponents (5 or 6): PSG, Atletico Madrid, Sporting, Benfica, Salzburg (Villarreal if they advance)  

Unseeded teams

PSG (Group A)

  • Possible opponents (6): Liverpool, Ajax, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus

Atletico Madrid (Group B)

  • Possible opponents (6): Manchester City, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Lille, Juventus

Inter Milan (Group D)

  • Possible opponents (6): Manchester City, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Lille

Benfica (Group E)

  • Possible opponents (7): Manchester City, Liverpool, Ajax, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Lille, Juventus  

*Villarreal or *Atalanta (Group F)

  • Possible opponents (if Villarreal advance): Manchester City,  Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Lille, Juventus

*- Atalanta and Villarreal play on Thursday in a match that was postponed from Wednesday due to snow. Atalanta must win to advance to the round of 16, while just a draw is needed for Villarreal. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET live on Paramount+.
