Ronaldo gets Real Madrid going
Cristiano Ronaldo, who is serving a Spanish league suspension for making contact with an official, has been itching to play, and on Wednesday he made APOEL pay with a double as Los Blancos rolled 3-0. Ronaldo got the starting nod for Real Madrid in the Champions League and scored the opener --and also the winner -- with a fine finish at the right post to the far post. Take a look:
He added a penalty kick later, and Sergio Ramos scored a third as the reigning champs get all three points.
Dortmund rocked by Harry Kane
In order for Tottenham to have any chance of advancing out of the group stage, their star striker Harry Kane has to come up big. Well, so far, so good. The Spurs beat Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley, with the England international scoring twice.
His first was a lovely hit near post to make it 2-1 in the 15th minute:
The second was early in the second half of a pass from Christian Eriksen, and he went far post:
The Spurs are rolling, and Kane is the reason why.
Sevilla coach ejected for tossing soccer ball away
Sevilla manager Eduardo Berrizo was sent to the Anfield stands during the club's 2-2 against Liverpool for tossing the ball away when Liverpool was awarded a throw-in. A bit harsh, yet funny. Take a look:
