Two teams separated by just four spots in the FIFA world rankings will meet on Wednesday in a pivotal Concacaf World Cup qualifying clash. Jamaica is ranked 59th by FIFA, while Honduras comes in at 63rd in the rankings. However, Honduras has one more point than the Jamaicans in the Concacaf standings for qualification to the 2022 World Cup. These teams last met at the 2019 Gold Cup in which Jamaica prevailed 3-2.
Kickoff is set for 8:05 p.m. ET from Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano, the home grounds of Honduras. Caesars Sportsbook lists the Hondurans as -118 favorites (risk $118 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line in the latest Jamaica vs. Honduras odds. The Jamaicans are +333 underdogs, while the over-under for total goals scored is 1.5. Wednesday's match will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

FIFA World Cup qualifying picks for Jamaica vs. Honduras
Before you tune in to Wednesday's World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the World Cup qualifier picks from soccer insider Roger Gonzalez. Gonzalez is an award-winning writer that has covered pro soccer from Europe to South America. Gonzalez started out his pro soccer writing career while in college at Virginia Tech, writing for Goal.com. He's also covered the Copa America, Champions League, Copa Libertadores, and much more. Since 2015, he's been the lead soccer writer for CBS Sports.
For Honduras vs. Jamaica, Gonzalez is backing Honduras (-118) to win. While these squads are evenly matched, Honduras does have the slight edge in talent. Honduras boasts forward Alberth Elis, who plays domestically for Bordeaux in France's top league. Elis finished in the top 10 in assists during his time in MLS and Portugal's Primeira Liga, and he also had an assist in his only match vs. Jamaica back in 2019.
Another reason why Gonzalez is backing Honduras is because it has a big advantage as the home team. Jamaica has simply been non-competitive in true away games as it has just one road victory since November 2019. That came against Saudi Arabia in November 2020 and the Saudi Arabians were 67th in FIFA rankings at the time. Jamaica has been outscored 9-2 in away games since that victory over Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Honduras will surely be looking forward to returning to its friendly confines. Of the 17 games the squad has played since the start of 2020, only three have been in Honduras. Thus, a raucous crowd will make the Jamaicans' efforts even more difficult and it's already been proven how much they struggle on the road.
