Two teams in dire need of a win will meet on Wednesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier. On one side of this play-off round matchup is Swedish powerhouse Malmo, who on Saturday suffered its first domestic league home loss in nearly two years. On the other side is Bulgarian champion Ludogorets, who hasn't won a game since July thanks to a pair of postponed matches and two draws. Malmo will host Wednesday's first leg with the second leg shifting to Bulgaria next Tuesday. You can watch the match on Paramount+.

Kick-off for Malmo vs. Ludogorets is set for 3 p.m. ET. Malmo is the -110 money-line favorite (risk $110 to win $100) in the latest Ludogorets vs. Malmo odds at Caesars Sportsbook, and the over-under is 2.5 goals. Champions League picks for Ludogorets vs. Malmo

Before you tune in to Wednesday's Champions League qualifier, you need to see the UEFA Champions League picks from European soccer insider Martin Green. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

For Malmo vs. Ludogorets, Green is predicting a draw at +210 odds. That result would be on-brand for Ludogorets, as the Bulgarian champion has drawn in three of its last four Champions League qualifiers. That includes draws in both legs of its third qualifying round, which needed extra time and a penalty shootout for Ludogorets to advance.

Likewise, Malmo has found itself evenly-matched with its opponents in recent contests, as the Swedish side has finished with a draw in two of its last five qualifying games. Malmo normally has a stout enough defense to keep its opponents off the scoreboard and prevail with a win, but it will be missing three key defenders for this first leg matchup. Whatever slight advantage Malmo had coming into this game is now negated by missing crucial players, and Green acknowledges that these teams are pretty level across the board.

"These teams look very evenly-matched, so the clash could still be delicately poised ahead of next week's second leg showdown," Green told SportsLine.
