Storylines

Mexico: Two consecutive draws have slowed El Tri's progress and while they will fancy themselves against Honduras and El Salvador, they cannot afford to take either lightly. With the USMNT and Canada to come before the end of 2021, there is still a strong chance that they finish the year top of the Concacaf table.

Honduras: Yet to win in these qualifiers, the Hondurans have been tough to beat except for a blowout against the USMNT. Funnily enough, their last World Cup qualifying win came back in 2017 against Mexico but it was at home. Considering the strength of the opposition, a draw would work here before playing a beatable Jamaican side.

Prediction

A narrow win for Mexico which will keep them in the hunt. Do not expect too many goals as the Mexicans have not exactly been free-scoring and Honduras can be quite stingy at the back. Pick: Mexico 1, Honduras 0
