The Portland Thorns enter Saturday's showdown against the Orlando Pride as the top-ranked team in the NWSL standings. The Thorns have won four of their last five games, while the Pride have been victorious just once in their last five fixtures. However, Orlando is coming off an impressive performance against the Chicago Red Stars, securing a 2-0 win on the road. The Thorns, meanwhile, are coming off a 1-0 win over the Washington Spirit and sit seven points clear of second-place North Carolina. The matched will be streamed on Paramount+.

NWSL picks for Portland Thorns vs. Orlando Pride

Before you tune in to Saturday's NWSL match, you need to see the NWSL picks from women's soccer expert Sandra Herrera. She is CBS Sports' women's soccer analyst and has been reporting on the game for more than five years. Providing insight both internationally and domestically, she has covered local markets, NWSL drafts and NWSL finals. She knows the women's game inside and out.

For Orlando Pride vs. Portland Thorns, Herrera is predicting the match to end in a draw (+250). The Thorns and Pride last squared off July 18, with Portland winning 2-1 at home. The Thorns registered 20 shots in that contest, while Orlando mustered just two on target. However, Orlando will enter Saturday's contest confident after controlling possession and using its clinical finishing to secure a 2-0 win over Chicago in its last outing.

Forward Sydney Leroux was on the score sheet yet again for the Pride in that match, giving her seven goals in 13 matches this season. In addition, Orlando's offensive attack features Brazil's Marta, who has scored 112 goals for her country.

Portland, meanwhile, has won its last four games, but the Thorns have narrowly escaped with wins in those matches. The Thorns have recorded a shutout in each of their last three games, but they've given up a total of 42 shots during that span, which could spell trouble against the likes of Leroux and Marta.

"While the Thorns have the better record and momentum as the visiting side, Portland's victories have been the results of slim and narrow score lines," Herrera told SportsLine. "While a bet for a Thorns win could be safe, Orlando's ability to score late goals could pave the way to a draw and a bigger betting reward."
