A new era begins for Paris Saint-Germain as they play their first game since signing Lionel Messi -- likely without the Argentine for now at least -- and look to continue their winning start to the Ligue 1 season against Strasbourg. Mauricio Pochettino's first full season in charge of PSG will see them try to wrestle the title back from Lille though with such a star-studded squad winning the French league will be seen as something of an afterthought compared to their Champions League aspirations.

They made a strong enough start last week with a 2-1 win over Troyes but will be expecting to up their scoring margin against Strasbourg having scored four times in both of their meetings with Les Coureurs last season.

Messi was presented at the Parc des Princes on Saturday night alongside new signings Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos. The latter is not yet fit while Pochettino indicated that his newest signing is likely to be given more time to bed in to his new surroundings having left Barcelona in a shocking transfer move.

"We will take it step by step, get to know each other and have him feel fit and comfortable so that he is able to make his debut when he is fully fit," said Pochettino. "The priority is that he is OK, feels good, and when he is in the best condition, he can play. I want to have the best players, like any coach. Everyone knows that Messi is one of the best in the world."
